Hi has anyone had any good or bad experiences with bone radiol, for strengthening legs or use on splints ??? Can't seem to find any info on it just very minimal description . Hugely grateful for any info good ar bad
In ye olden days there were remedies galore for splints including blister [red or blue].
Best thing is to take care not to get them, once they appear, horse needs a rest, then maybe find a reason, if due to concussion, then you know you have been doing too much with him.
The vet will give you a better and more up to date prognosis, but a bit of Radiol wont do much, probably rest and tlc is the way to go.
As far as i recall, I used it on my broken wrist as well as splints, it was like surgical spirits with other stuff
I still have some BR from the good old days! it was used a lot for splints and as part of a homemade tendon wash. I would still use it if needed as its as good as splintex or whatever is the modern equivilent although rest is best for them if they are forming
