Morning; my horse had surgery last July for a right hind stifle surgery- found a few things. She came sound of that & we brought her back into work. Now 5 months later she's lame again- but not on the stifle but the same leg. With potential hock pain. She's had everything blocked on her hind legs to no avail apart from a slight positive on her hocks.
They are referring her to rossdales for a bone scan next week & ive got the lovely task of talking to my insurance that it has nothing to do with her old injury otherwise il have to foot the bill (eep) should be ok as there fab! And the old claim has only just lapsed. Does anyone have any experience with bone scans or a similar insurance claim ?! Thanks

I think this may be a tricky one, you need the bone scan to prove where the issue is but there is a chance it is related to the previous injury in some way, even indirectly there may be a weakness that contributed to the stifle problem that was not picked up originally that has now flared up as she is back in work.
I think you need the vets to say it is not in any way connected and put it in writing for the insurance company rather than you trying to do so, most will have put an exclusion on the limb, I would also tell the vets you may not be covered to ensure they keep you fully informed while she undergoes the tests so they do not do anything unless they have the ok from you just in case you end up footing the bill.

Thank you be positive!
It's what I thought; yes my vet is going to do it all on writing but I need to call & make a claim. They are fab as insurers go; so fingers crossed! Yes will be speaking to them once I've rang insurance to 'make my claim' really annoying situation! Bless her. Never mind; have to sort it out!
