Where do all you lovely people get bones for your dog? - the only ones I seem to be able to find are smoked ones or cooked knuckle bones that Bruce has a habit of chewing into shards which then cause problems. I went to the butchers to ask for raw bones, but was told they were not allowed to sell thema s someone had tried to sue them

So, where do I get them?

Thanks

Try another butcher? There are two butchers in our village and both of them will give you raw bones if you ask, for free too as they are charged to dispose/render them.

Our old butcher never used to sell them, but just put them in the bin! But we have a new one now who sells 'doggy bags' full of leftovers for £2 and does cheaper ones around christmas time.

Our butcher sellls massive beef leg bones for £1 each and will happily cut them into 4 for me. The £1 goes straight into the air ambulance charity box. They also sell bags of pet meat for £2 for a huge carrier bag full of meat - all diced

Try other butchers in the area, the trick is to shop there a bit yourself first then ask and they should be more helpful, or offer to sign a disclaimer!!! If you have a Morrisons nearby then they do a "stock" pack of lamb bones for under £1.

Our does exactly the same. They're happy to give out any bones they have and just ask for a nominal donation to a charity box.
