Ok folks what are your plans for surviving the bonfire /firework season ? all mine will be in with lights left on and radios on to midnight on both yards. Do you bring in all your outside horses ( all mine are in). how do your horses cope?

I don't do anything differently, they come in at night as usual and go out in the day.
I think we worry more than the horses do, after all, they've all seen fireworks every year since they were born, no worse than a bad thunder storm in my opinion (unless your right next to a firework display obvs) :)

our yard is in a little village and annoyingly everyone seems to have their own fireworks - its like bonfire week not night! last year the man who owns the field next door to ours, hosted a bonfire party for the local church and let off about £2000 worth of fireworks right opposite my stable block - despite his land running a long way past ours! We ended up with rockets on the flat roof of the stables.

All ours come in and i park the lorry in front of the stables, radio on loud and we end up sitting up there till 10:30pm everynight! Comp horses seem fine its the 2 retired ponies that get themselved in such a tizz and they sweat up with their woolley winter coats and i end up having to wait for them to dry and calm down! its an operation!
However i think my mum enjoys the outing as she's there with hot tea / soup and regular snacks!

at least this year its not freezing!

I carry on as normal too. I was once told its better to leave them out overnight so they can see what the noise is but it sounded b@*#!*ks to me! He's not bothered about fireworks anyway!!
