Bonfire night should be banned

Can't agree that it should be banned but I would like to see a ban on sales to the general public. Our council puts on a 25 minute free display each year, it's fab! I can not understand why one would chose to spend a small fortune on a crappy back garden display when there are great organised displays for free or for a small charge and often in support of a community group or charity.
I agree. Who could possibly argue against that?

I love bonfire night and fireworks but don't think they should be sold to the public.
We went to the firework display at Ascot racecourse on Saturday and it was only £6 per adult and under 5's were free so it actually worked out cheaper for us (4 adults and 2 kiddies under 5) to go to this display.
Both my dogs luckily are ok but my previous 2 were petrified and the horses as far as I know are fine.

Seeing Jenhunt's post on halloween set me off.

LETS BAN BONFIRE NIGHT!

Couldn't agree more! Unfortunately we have neighbours who set of fire works for every little celebration, Christmas, New Year, Easter and all of their four childrens birthdays as well as Halloween and Bonfire night! Not only that but they carry on for over an hour each time, drives me MAD.

We had one of those families in the village they moved I wonder if you got them.

Speaking as someone who has a family member who was terribly burnt many moons ago at a private bonfire party, I would love to see a ban on members of the public buying and setting fireworks. However, I love the huge choreographed display at our public park every year, so I wouldn't call for an outright ban.

Yes the purchase of fireworks should be banned from general public - we should only have organised displays - might stop all the wee neds from setting off fireworks for 2 weeks before and after the 5th Nov plus it will prevent all of the burns admissions to casualty we see every flippin year
