Book recommendations - horse care

I would just like to buy a reference book as something to fall back on for basic horse care. Nothing controversial. What would be the general recommendation?

I will be a first time owner with lots of riding experience and a lot of experience helping others.

sorry no book reccs but.... I'd wholeheartedly recommend reading this forum instead! there's soooooo much info here and you can always ask questions if you can't find what you want... I bought my first horse a year ago and MAN has this forum helped me, it is absolutely invaluable

BHS complete manual of Stable Management; and Veterinary Notes for Horse Owners - they're my bibles!

We've a Pony Club Manual of Horsmanship - think that's what it's called. Very good (and easy to read). If you buy from the Pony Club website post is free.

Ditto this, had mine out today for a quick look, and even though from 1979, and some bit are perhaps ood, it pretty much covers everything

BHS Stable management and veterinary care se mentioned above. Also some riding establishments offer stable management and horse owner courses. Worth looking into!
