Sorry wasn't sure exactly which forum to place this in :
I've been having some issues with my mare recently so I'm thinking I need some help.
So I was wondering what are the best books out there? I'm going to order a couple of Amazon today so...
I'm thinking... Heather moffetts Book, 100 ways of improving your horses schooling and umm...... Is there any must have books out there to help improve your riding and schooling?

And instructors, as I've recently lost my instructor. Can anyone recommend someone in north Gloucestershire/Herefordshire border, or someone who covers this area? EE would be great but anyone sympathetic and encouraging (we both suffer from lack of confidence) would be fine.

Thanks for any help

i just got the 'Schooling with Poles' by Claire Lilley and its fab - lots of good exercises for everything froma square halt to piaffe....

Carl Hester's books are good if you're in the dressage game. I find most horsey magazines also have good articles on schooling - I cut out any useful articles and put them in a folder.

I'll have a look at those two... I want one of those books...what are they... oh yes.. 'schooling for idiots' or is it 'an idiots guide'?

because sometimes I find the magazines articles just don't make sense to me...

And some books too... So anything very straightforward that someone lacking in the brains department

could follow would be great

I'll look up Christine Hammond too, Is she very technical? I like to keep things simple... I've had a few lessons with an olympic event rider, and it didn't really work for us. I made a quick search on google but didn't find anything... do you know where she is?

i quite like susan mcbane's books (100 ways to improve schooling etc) but suspect may be too basic for what you want
i need the basic explanations and exercises
