I've just agreed to share a horse two days a week :D I start tomorrow :D anyway I've never really schooled before, just a bit of hacking and lessons. Can anyone recommend a good book on how to school properly?
Thanks :)

Alois Podhajsky's The complete training of horse and rider.
Dr Reiner Klimke's how to train your young horse
Sylvia Loch's Classical seat, in fact, anything written by Sylvia Loch :)
Ride with your mind by Mary Waneless

I would also join the classical riding club online as they have a huge back catalogue of information you can tap into

Well, Podhajsky might be a little bit too much to digest as a starter if you've never schooled a horse at all. There's a wonderful book by Werner Storl "Schooling Young Horses" which you might be able to pick up on Amazon (it's published in the US), it is very clear and sequential and I think explains the basics and progression extremely well without gobbledygook.
