I've just shown a prospective livery round our shiny new yard and she was asking about the possibilities of holding her dog training classes in one of our paddocks Now my unruly lot will really have to pull their socks up (er yes, that means me I know ) or should I just say no it won't work and then run and hide

Seriously though, do you know what the going rate is for rent etc? They wouldn't have exclusive use of the field but would have a lean-to for storage / office and would hold classes 2 - 3 days per week plus the occasional show. Also are there any questions i should be asking or rules I should insist on? This isn't something I've considered and while I know what I expect from liveries I'm a bit at sea with this

I have no idea what the going rate for rent would be, but if you do let her have the field I would stipulate that all dogs attending are vaccinated, and also that she is responsible for making sure the field is clear of dog muck at the end of the session.

Thanks MM I never thought of that!

She has invited me to go along to one of her sessions next week to get an idea of what to expect. Not sure if I dare take a dog along too..........
