My mare is due to come of box rest next week and I'm just thinking ahead to when I start working her.
I have never had a horse on box rest and am just wondering if her legs/tendons will be weaker and more prone to injury as she hasn't been doing anything for 3months.
I will only be waking in hand and hacking for first while but she can be quite sharp and want to be safer than sorry!
Just wondering what anyone would reccomend-would bandages be best for support, or I have seen wraps that look quite good but not sure if they would offer same support? Or any type of boot?
PS I am going to ask vets advice and she didn't brush overreach previous to injury.
Thanks!
