Boots for competitions?

I'm hoping to do some unaffiliated competitions soon, mostly jumping. Are there particular riding boots you have to wear or can you wear anything? Thinking about buying some toggi calgary boots but only if they'd be ok in shows?

Most venues I have seen schedules/rules for just specify that boots are worn. Some allow short boots and chaps and all allow long riding boots. I am sure the Calgarys will be fine, they're not as smart as some for showing/dressage but would be allowed...and perfect for jumping.
