Hi, my 4yo mare has a giant splint on each front leg, she hasn’t been ridden or worked in boots as she got these splints before she was backed and I’m worried they will rub, they most likely will as they’re really quite big. She’s completely sound and happy on them now and I’d like for her to have some leg protection when she’s being ridden and lunged. I know bandages would probably be best, and boots with sheepskin but I’m worried about tendons overheating. She’s grey and has sensitive skin so gets rubbed easily. Just wondering if anyone has found any boots that are soft and flexible that haven’t rubbed? Thanks

My mare has small but noticeable splints and I always use husk technology! I would say that they aren’t that soft so you would have to do some research into it as obviously I don’t know your horse but I find they are really good for my mare. They are super breathable though and a lovely boot.

Sorry I don't have any advice about boots but would say have you had treatment from your vet? Gel prescribed from our vet greatly reduced the size of splints on a 4 year old.
