My very energetic Connemara ended up on box rest for the majority of the previous summer season due to an undiagnosed lameness on his off fore. He has since been shod and has remained sound, although some people have advised me to put turnout/brushing boots on his front legs when the ground is hard. However, I have read about the affects of heat on tendons when using boots for a long amount of time and was wondering whether it is worth it. He is out for about 10 hours a day and spends are large amount of time galloping about and generally annoying other horses. What are your views on this? thanks
