As my horse has no shoes on I rarely worry about booting up. What do I put on to go XC schooling. Just brushing boots or full on XC boots? Or something else? I have lots of boots as BH is my first horse in proper work that doesn't wear shoes and I know what I'd put on a shod horse but not wearing shoes changes the issue of strike injuries etc so I am a bit confuzzled as to whether I should put any on him at all  Thoughts?

I don't usually put any on the highland as he's not shod either. The cob's never had any as they don't make them to accomodate his hair :o

It's weird having a horse without shoes! I haven't put on boots for literally a year now probably! Maybe more actually. I should have a clear out really as I'm never going to use most of them ever again.

I don't really do matchy anything. We're far too scruffy! Even at shows I look like a tramp. I try hard but it doesn't ever quite work :(

Mine's barefoot and I put cross country boots on.

He's only learning and last week he got too close and hit a fence quite hard and I was glad he had protection.

Mind you he's a tb and doesn't need shoes to injure himself.

I have a set of PE ones that he wears possibly a little OTT but he has had a few speshul moments where he has seen the second fence and then forgoten hes half way over the first  and bashed his back legs. He doesnt wear over reach boots though.
