Ok so I have lived in muck company tyne boots for the last year which i love but up until this weekend I've been mainly using them on the flat surface

Roll on to this week and oh my i didnt realise how much grip I was missing, with the ice and mud going around I have struggled to stay up right! Resulting in a nasty fall where I think I've done some serious damage to my elbow.

can anyone recommend some decent grippy boots?

thanks in advance

Aigle Parcours - have grips like hiking boots. I am surprised at how little I slip in these compared to Muckboot Derwents. nothing works on sheet ice though!! Best to get some of those slip on ice grip things for that!

Don't think horse riding and grippy boots go together.

Are you just wanting a boot to do stable chores in and a different pair to ride in? If that the case, I would look at walking boots.

Presume you have a pair of the ice traxx? No good in mud though.

Will be interested in other folks suggestions too.

You can get grippy things to go onto the soles of normal boots - a bit like small crampons in that they have small metal studs. I got some from a ski-wear shop. The ones I got are on a stap which goes around the instep but you can get ones on a sort of rubber sole which fits over the whole sole of the boot. You just put them over any boot and take them off when not needed.
