Border Collie info please

Hi , I have a blue merle border collie and Im going to a fun dog show at the end of the month

so the questions : -
Is he a sporting dog or non sporting dog?
Is he long haired or short haired? i think he may be long haired.

Depending on the show he may only be counted as a sporting dog if he is working? Definatly long haired if he is anything like mine!

thank you, am so proud went to the dogs trust show sunday and won best rescue dog out of 52 dogs !!! and then came 2nd in most handsome dog out 61!!

am very proud mummy!! will post pics of the dogs show coming up

Thanks EAB, hes not a working dog, mmm, unless herding the cats and the horses is classed as working !!

i'll double check on the day, yeh I though he would be long haired as his coat is about 2-3 inches long

Hate to argue here but collies i.e. working dogs (although technically they are in the pastoral group now) are non sporting. The sporting groups are hounds, gundogs and terriers.
Your best plan is to ask on the day though, I am sure they will advise you. Hope you and your dog enjoy the day
