So here is a little Mootbag update
After having a bit of a wibble after my fall, I had a lesson with JB who firmly stuck the wheels back on, told me to be singleminded, ignore anyone with 'useful' advice and ride my horse the way that works for the pair of us. So with that in mind I was ready for Eland and then the step up to Novice at Buckminster... Obviously the rain had other plans
So, like everyone else, we have been stuck at home practising and seem to have had somewhat of a breakthrough with our flatwork
A few weeks ago I was extremely spoilt and bought a shiny, brand spanking new Dressage saddle
It is the most beautiful saddle I have ever sat in, and straight away Mally was nicer to ride in, so I feel it was a worthwhile investment.
It's a Barnsby Theoden, full calfskin and added silver bling trim
I just need a bloody outing for it now!
During our lesson JB made a few alterations to my bridle and bit and told me to try a few combinations to see what she likes, so yesterday I tried her in a Drop noseband and a NS Hanging Cheek, as she dislikes tongue pressure and hates having her gob strapped shut but is also is a gobby madam! It seems to have a been a bit of a revelation (despite having tried it before and not being convinced!) as she is letting me ride her and oddly enough, listening to my weight aids more.
And top of the list, we have minimal tail swishing

A few pictures...
We can even go backwards now
I think this is our attempt at Med Trot, which is far from perfect, however attempting it in the past would have meant helicopter tail!
So that's that. Hopefully we will get out Eventing soon, we are entered in the BE100+ at Stafford and the BE100 at Cholmondeley Castle and then we will hopefully look for anothe Novice debut! In the meantime I am trying to find some SJ or Dressage to get to, but as I work weekends, it's bloody hard!
