Boredom

Hey ok winters ah coming and we normally get hit quite bad so i was wondering if anyone had any boredom breaking ideas me and my horse can do over winter thanx guys

teach a few tricks maybe? i have a good book by Jutta Weimers that i got last winter with the intentions of having a fully trick trained horse but never got round to it! there are plenty of non dangerous or rude tricks in their!

Groom a lot, practise plaiting, long rein, walk in hand, break to harness, do NH, moving feet etc, hang plastic bags, balloons, umbrellas etc, treat ball, carrot stretches, walking across tarparlin, I never have time to have bored horses, mine tend to be happy just eating hay

Sorry i should have made it more clear but i meant when it gets too bad too ride because we only have an outdoor arena

ugh hate this word but 'Natural Horsemanship' but no wiggle, wiggle, bump' techniques etc, I mean walking over tarp through ribbon or try horse agility

To be honest i struggle up until Christmas - riding about twice a week and then weekends. This keeps the horse fit enough for what I want.

After about Jan 4th i let the horse down and just ride at weekends.

There's not much weather that prevents me from riding tbh. Just dark, cold nights - which is why I don't bother after Christmas.
