i have 2 horses both who have joint issues and both are on some sort of joint suppl and herbs.
my first lad has a previous fractured pelvis and bone spavins, he works daily at a hack only and i find he does get very stiff after a few days hacking in a row or long hacks but he loves working and vet ensures me daily riding it best for him. he looks in amazing condition but i want to get him as comfortable as possible. so far hes on premierflex for his joints and wendals easy mover herbs and linseed oil, ive read about boswellia and wonder if its worth adding this too to try and make him extra comfy. if so which supplement is best? what do people use? and could i add to what we already use? annax

We use it on our 16yo irish draught as she seemed to be getting stiffer over the winter & it's worked wonders. She gets about 8g a day so not a high dose but it really seems to be helping.

One word of caution, check how many grams you're giving in whatever scoop you use if you do try it, for the first few weeks we we giving what we thought was a 5g scoop twice daily but it didn't seem to be helping, we weighed what we were giving her & it only held 2g, so we've doubled up & you can really see the difference now.

We get ours from Pegasus Health, there's quite a lot of info on their website about it.

Hope that helps :)

ETA - she's also on linseed lozenges & Equiflex & there doesn't seem to be any problem with mixing them
