So bought a new lad today, not much trial facilites-correction:none! a barn and a gravel/grass yard!
But 6yr 16hh (bigger?) chestnut gelding. Needs shod, not been ridden a month.
Seller old man who bought him 'cos he was poor' and has done very little with him.
Nice natured, the owner seemed to be limited to what he could do being 'mature'.
Very worried he might buck, although he didn't and says he only ever did when he went to see him???
Dishes, and this is something I know not a lot about but believe it's not a big thing?
Getting him vetted anyway on wed so vet will tell us anything we've missed although seemed grand.
Anything sound amiss? Very excited to have a new project, he seems to be going to be sharper that the last boy we had and possibly a bit more talented in the end but we'll see!

If he's cheap then it's worth the risk but there do seem to be a rather a lot of question marks!!
Dishing would bother me, suppose it depends how close he moves.

Very exciting though, good luck for the vetting

Yup, definitely cheap!
Dishing, throwing the foot out slightly? How does that relate to how close he moves?
Not really a lot, maybe I'm just being picky? He has decent conformation, moves well enough and IMO could make a nice PC/RC allrounder at a reasonable price (i.e not overpriceD)!
Appreciate the input, this is only our second go at a little 'project' so definitely lots to learn. Going on the basis that if they're cheap and vetted sound we've eliminated as much financial risk as possible if we think we can find a niche for them

None yet, will post plenty tomorrow dependant on if he passes.(must say the sellers face dropped when we said we wanted to use hugh.....Also said much cheaper ones around  )
