Hi All
Just looking for a little advice..i have a horse that did his near side fore superficial digital flexor tendon last sunday...he has never been lame but a little heat and swelling there... been hosing and wrapping and he had the first few days on bute.... going to have a scan this next week.
But my problem is the offside fore has come up the same as the near side could this also have happened last sunday and taken a week to show? or could it have had a weakness in that side also and he has been putting more pressure on it for it to come up also?
would really appreciate your thoughts
many thanks Nic

I doubt your horse could sprain both tendons and one show up a week later. It's probably ok, just looks thick due to box rest and compensating for the other one. Vets often advise to support both forelegs in tendon injuries rather than just treat the affected limb so maybe bandaging will help

Thanks clippy
I have had both legs bandaged from the beginning. He is a bad weaver and cribber so was unable to give him total box rest as it really would have made him worse so he has a small patch of paddock fenced off to keep him happy luckly he isnt a silly horse and there isnt enough room for him to trot or gallop around.
