Considering treatment for horse and myself and wondered what peoples thoughts were on it. My pony is back in work after around 3 months off, just turned away for the winter as riding once a week through mud and rain was becoming a battle. He is due the back man and I wondered if this might be a nice alternative, he has a history of bucking and a slight roach back but is really just generally a stubborn cob! Theres nothing really wrong with me, just wanted a pick me up.

I've tried it & went back for more. Very good at relaxing tense areas. Gentle, caused no pain. Any doubts try a session yourself before booking one for your horse.

I have BT done regularly on my SJer and he loves it and I have seen a big difference in his movement and behaviour. I recommend it, you may need it 2-3 times before you start seeing big differences in your horse.

It worked so well on my mare I started to have it on me and if she feels half as good as I do after a session I'm not surprised at the change in her - physically and mentally. My youngster has it too now and she loves it.

I'd tried physio/McTimoney already but Bowen has been the best for (all of) us.

I haven't had it on me, but have had it on one of my horses to great benefit.
You might want to talk to clipcloppop on here, she is a Bowen Therapist, not in your area, but might be able to recommend somebody.

I'm a huge fan of Bowen, it had the most amazing effect on my 88 year old mum who was crippled with sciatica (like couldn't get out/into bed, out of chair or walk more than 2-3 paces). She was 'written off' by the medical profession and told that she would have to live with it. She was on 18 painkillers a day and had morphine patches and was barely able to function.

Anyway Bowen has meant she is now completely pain free. What more can I say!

My boy has it regularly and it's done wonders for him and his muscle problems....really notice a difference when he's had a spell without. I've had it on myself to sort out years of reccurring back pain, not had a bad back since.

My BT is on maternity leabe at the moment but will get back on with the sessions as soon as she's working again.

One of my girls was unsound for 2yrs, all the muscles in her back down to her hocks where deteriorating and wasting away. Vets, physio, farriers, the flippin lot of them where stumped and regardless of what treatment, tests etc she had we couldnt get a diagnosis and she just got worse.
Last summer she could just about walk in from the field - this came on over night. Vet suggested having her PTS. I decided to let her have the rest of the summer turned out with lots of grass and with her mum. She was on high dose of bute and turned away.

When I brought her in before the start of the winter, something told me to try again(cheese moment or what?!)
I completely went against vets advice. I took her off the bute and stabled her. I researched about Bowen, contacted a lady and I've never looked back!

She had intensive treatment, the Bowen lady said she didn't think she'd come back completely sound and that more than likely she would only be able to do light hacking....
After her 2nd treatment the pain in her eyes went away, after 3 months she had muscle definition in her bum. A year later and we're just starting schooling again.
She's still not 100%, one of her hamstrings still needs building up... but still, not bad for a horse that everyone had given up on! Wish I'd just done that first, instead of spending £1000's with vets, physio etc

Needless to say, I highly recommend Bowen..It literally saved my horses life.
All mine get done now. My other two are done once a year and they love it!
