Laminitic cob, been on box rest for a month. Moved to a fantastic new yard during all this.Away from the nightmare fertilised grass in the old place and totally unsympathetic yard owner. He was muzzled there, and still got it, it is the grass induced type. Now at a horse heaven, grass never been fertilised, quiet, calm, lovely place. Very knowledgeable yard owner. Any ideas? I am always on this forum!!

If he is sound without any painkillers, you could start turning him out onto a small paddock ( and I mean small, ie tennis court sized) for maybe 20 mins and gradually build it up by half an hour a day?
I did this with my cob a few years ago. The slower the better.
He is now strip grazed, moving the fence daily by a couple of feet in dry weather, and not moving it when we have had rain then sun.
This has worked for me without any problems for 3 years, and he lives out most of the year.
