My boy is currently on box rest and i feel awful for him stuck in. He is on his 12th week and has been suprisingly well behaved. I just wondered if anyone has any ideas to make his life a little happier.

He has a treat ball already and i hang carrots up for him and hide them in his haynet.

thanks

Apple in water bucket :) My boy spent ages trying to get one. I felt bad cuz he was getting frustrated and pawing so I helped him a little but if he were stuck in on box rest i'd let him carry on for hours if he wanted hehe!

A swede in his feed bowl?
Radio?
Plenty of grooming and company
Haynets dotted about in box?
Would he be allowed a massage? Not necessarily medicinal but some of the exercises they can show you will help him/her not to stiffen up too much, decent McTimony or similar, under vert's advice?

Lol! I did this for my horse... he just snorted. I left it there overnight and in the morning he hadn't touched the apple or the water!

Hanging up a whole swede kept him occupied for a little while, but he got bored with it pretty quickly.

How about a stable mirror?
