Firstly, thank you for your advice on my previous post.

My boy has been on box rest with daily hand walking for around 10 days. Turns out he had a brewing abscess (near fore) which has now burst (yay) ... this morning for no apparent reason his off hind is puffed up quite solid from his fetlock up his cannon bone.

I would have expected both to fill not just one, should I be worried?

Any ideas? ... in the meantime I am hand walking a few times a day to keep him moving.

Many Thanks in advance :)

Can you turn him out?

I can but had resisted until we were sure it wasn't something more sinister, also the ground has been awful and he's a bit of a hooligan in the field ;)

Many horses 'stock up' when kept in as they need movement.....the more a horse is turned out the less he will 'hoon'.......
