How long is the longest anyone has had a horse on box rest for (with a happy outcome)?

I'm at eight months and counting ...

And any ideas for (non fattening ways) to stave off her boredom?

She has a treat ball, it takes her about three seconds to empty it (highly intelligent!) and then she just gets in a fury and starts kicking it to make it give her more food!
 
Hi - my baby has been on box rest for 4.5 months now and he is a fatty by nature so it has been difficult keeping him amused and not piling too much weight on him. Make sure you are feeding your hay from a small holed net and hang it somewhere so it is dangling so he has push it round and work a bit more. I also have one of those apple hanging ball things and sometimes smear stuff on (peppermint cordial prob leastfattening) and he'll play with that for ages - although he is quite simples which helps. I also have a cage on the wall to put likits in - I know they're not ideal but in the cage it has took him ages to lick it through the bars.
