Hi all!

A good friend lost her best friend recently to old age.
When she feels ready to get another puppy she has mentioned that she would like a Boxer with some of the same lines as her old boy (if possible). Is there a database of Boxers where I might be able to get some info for her? We have his pedigree and I have done a quick search online but I can't find anything! Perhaps a long shot, but I thought I would try!

Thanks.

I'd contact a breed club as a start point.

Depending on the lines, there's also Pedigree Database and working-dog.eu (but you have to pay for full search rights with the latter). But I'm sure there must be a dedicated boxer database.

Great! Thanks for your replies :)

Here is a photo of his pedigree, hopefully it is clear enough?

Using https://www.mykc.org.uk as a starting point - unfortunately I don't think any of his siblings had registered offspring and his was the only litter for either of his parents. Going back to the Hocombewood dogs on dad's side is probably your best bet, they originate from more well known show lines (Seefeld) and there'll be lots of distantly related dogs out there. :)

As Blackcob, you need to look for established kennel names/affixes/suffixes as a start point.
I love that he was named after Frank Zappa's son. There's probably a Moon Unit out there.

I've been doing this for an hour this afternoon and come up with nothing...I even looked through the boxer uk breeding database ,also nothing...there are no titled dogs in the pedigree so probably small scale breeders..

O.P. there is a breeders address on the bottom left of the pedigree..can the lady not write to her there as a starting point?

I had a look on the My KC database, as above no real recognised names, or particular line breeding that I can see unfortunately. Sadly at least one of the bitches in his pedigree looks to have been overbred (5 litters) so maybe not the best of breeders. As blackcob says, maybe distant relatives are going to be the only way to go.

Wow! Thank you for the time you have all taken to search for me. I know my friend will really appreciate it.
They are coming over tonight for dinner so I have printed this topic out for her to follow up. It does sound like the Hocombewood route would be best. I'll have a look into it and be sure to let you know if we manage to find a pup!

Thanks again.

If there are records on the kc website, have a look for health tests. I know there isn't an official test for cancer, but some boxer lines are known for it. It's put me right off the breed.

They are also prone to dcm from what I gather so I wouldn't touch any that hadn't been tested (as far as possible again there is no definitive test)
