Went out with the Sandhurst and RMA draghunt and had an amazing time. Tried a double bridle for brakes and didn't even touch the curb bit - tied reins in a knot on his neck and rode off the snaffle and had better brakes than last time in the Cheltenham gag - dont think he likes strong bits and just fights them. We had a lovely meet to start with and then 3 fab lines and some great jumps - fantastic fun.

Where did you go and how was it?

I was out with the Warwickshire and it was really good! He jumped amazingly and you wouldnt have known he was only 14.2 by the way he was jumping!! I have a few pics so will put them up when I take them off the camera!

We were on foot with Sandhurst & RMA drag hounds today while we loaned out Darcy-pony to one of the members for his first ever go hunting - had a great day, made even better by the fact Darcy was amazingly well behaved. I think we may have found Darcys calling in life!

Just uploading pics now to put them in PG.....

We went on foot to the Mendip Farmers Hunt up at Priddy. Neither of my horses are suitable for hunting, but my three legged lurcher certainly enjoyed himself!

I had a fabulous day's hunting today. The turnout was superb, really fast all day and my horse was an absolute star as usual, very forward going, always up the front but totally safe and gave me an excellent day. I love Boxing Day meets - everyone has a very full hip flask!! :)

Another one with the Quorn - super day nice to see so many people out so smartly turned out. BBC news were covering and one of our joint masters did a super piece to camera which I saw on East Midlands news in the afternoon.
Everyone seemed to enjoy it (although i was catching loose ponies in less than 5 minutes from setting off!) and it was great to see so much support from the foot followers - bbc quoted about 2000 in attendance.

I managed to get a hireling and went out with the Crawley and Horsham - wonderful meet and the most perfect day for it. My hireling however was not great - wouldn't stand still at the meet, so much so that I couldn't get any food or drink. Was incredibly strong so I ended up giving up about an hour in and hacking home before we had an accident. He was damn big (for me, anyway) - even the owner said to me after the moment she saw me she knew she should've given me a smaller horse. So I didn't enjoy it that much and am in serious pain today! Can't wait to hunt my own horse on the 3rd....just realised how much of a gem she is out hunting!

I went to one over here in N.I and it was great for 30 mins. The nutjob I was riding decided to throw me off on the road whilst jumping out of a field and now my back/shoulders/neck is in agony - no more hunting until I have my own horse!

I had a lovely day with the Waveney Harriers on my SuperStar boy

No jumping (well there was some barrells :p) but we are notoriously flat (perfect country for the over 80's :p)

Some nice blasting around and ditches

For a chnage of pace went out with the Kildare Foxhounds - have a fabulous day with an 11.30am meet which finished at 4.30pm with a small group of diehards getting an impressive display when we put up 4 foxes from one covert! Lots of jumping, although I did get jumped off by the TB (damn the SJing!) landed on my feet holding the reins so no harm done

Dunston Harriers. Wymondham, Norfolk.

My hubbie had his first dash from the square at Wymondham, over the railway line, the A11 and into our country - definite learning curve for him and his calf muscles!

Not as many in the field as in the past but never the less a good craic. A lot of galloping, a few ditches and a couple of jumps later, our horses held it together and we were back at the box having hacked back at about 3.45pm (getting dark and a little scary on the busy road but hey-ho!).

God bless pubs for the after-hunt pint(s) of Wolf Coyote!!!.

Thanks to all.

Out witht eh bilsdale, my horse was a saint and was quite happy for a change to be the one at the back giving people leads!

only thing was - he nicked some child's whip right out of their hand and snapped it with his teeth! she didn't seem to mind, just found it really funny!

OH had a good day on hireling - Big Frank (18.2h hanoverian) - and was out til 3.45, jumped all day and got piccies too!

Thanks, I even managed to Plait Ron's tail up and he didn't buck once! he did try to jump on a pedestrian (well more accurately he launched himself into the air and the pedestrian was in his way when he landed!) but that had nothing to do with the tail!

have a look at this as testament to how smart he looked (but this was today's attempt and not boxing day's!)
