Bozmerix

I’ve had good results with boswellia for mild arthritis. If bosmerix is the one I’m thinking of it’s boswellia and turmeric so probably cheaper to buy separately, just check the percentage of boswellic acid before you buy.
It’s a supplement not a treatment though, it’s not going to do what an SI injection will. Not sure what your vets have advised but usually SI is a single injection followed by rehab so not too costly long term. I’ve rehabbed two following an SI injection, neither needed it repeating and both were completely fine long term.

One of mine had an SI injury and had a steroid injection, he needed another but it was a few years later. Both times I did a lengthy rehab under the guidance of a physio. My vet has never recommended any supplement as an alternative to this. Part of the benefit of the injection is that the horse can move pain free to do the recommended exercises.

Nowhere near as effective as an SI injection!!!

Not a fan of Hestegard products in general as they don’t specifically say how much of anything is in their supplements, you’d be better off using Boswellia serrata if you want a supplement. But the injection is way more effective x

Bozmerix has curcumin which is the active in turmeric. If you were to buy turmeric separately, you’d have to give a ridiculous amount for it to have the same amount of curcumin. My mare hated the taste and I had to mix molasses in at first but she’s gotten used to it.

My mare has arthritis in both hocks so the vet injected Arthramid (hydrogel) over steroids, into each and then recommended Bozmerix to support inflammation while we rehab her back to work.

So far the vet is incredibly happy with her recovery.
