Sack the rider!

Bud was a star yesterday, i just really let him down still kicking myself now......

Walked xc and yes its big alright, bold riding slightly worried as his first N since accident but thought well he'll either step up to mark or won't - and was going to do alternative at water as he stopped last year at big drop in, only to find no alternative this time!!!

Warmed up brilliant for dressage, i then didn't help him in the test and didn't ride my best but was pleased with it overall as he now seems so much more settled and concentrates i just need to plan and prepare ahead more!! we got 35.7 i think...

SJ - causing SO many problems stops , poles flying everywhere and Bud was prancing around the warm up wasn't helping.... anywhere feeling far to over nervous went in and he was difficult to ride and didn't hit the perfect strides but we were going clear i was getting more and more anxious about going clear jumped the double CLEAR patted him as i sailed past fence 10!! i missed the last F***ING fence so cirlced round and he just tapped back rail had it down so 8 faults - then to top it off 16 time faults!! so lovely sj score of 24!! i am such an idiot and to top it off only 4 went clear in my section!

Onto XC - decided not to push for time and just take it how it comes, nerves kicking in..... he was trying to bronk all way down to start box just managed to get him in box as starter said go!! Off we go and i had nothing to worry about, he was a star! hesitated then went into water SO pleased jumped everything just how i asked he was just so amazing hit some great spots - brilliant clear round. Was slightly shocked i got 25 time faults!! didn't think i went that slow... just shows how fast novice is....

So all in all my horse is brilliant and i am useless need to sort my nerves out as its effecting riding and hopefully more he does he'll calm down abit and be bit easier to ride SJ.....

sorry so long

i have bits on video will try upload it tomorrow..... no idea if there was a photographer there....

So next Chatsworth!! more focus needed!!

yes he was bless him, just need to try keep him calmer for sj, am taking him out on saturday for more practice in nice big grass arena so that should help!

yes SO fast, i'd forgotten - i did do one alternative at 4th fence but all straight other routes but looking at video i was very slow over first few fences....

Chatsworth i will pull finger out and get him in gallop mode!!

Well I am delighted even if you think you let him down.

Nerves do play a factor, and now youve got that dreaded first Novice run after such a long lay off out the way, chatworth you will be able to ride and enjoy.

Bud sounds full of beans and fit to burst! hes sucha a dude isnt he

Well done, regardless for the prob in the SJing, hey, i did the same last year, but didnt correct it and got TE! at least you didnt get that lol

Awwwwww well done, we all do silly things every now and then, that is why we are human

Bet Chatsworth will be far easier now you have this run under your belt - good luck!

Oooh Chatwsorth is my favourite! The showjumping in the main arena always used to blow Holly away so we usually had 3 down! But the XC is just fab, the second time we went round clear and inside the time, but it really was fast and cutting corners, but I could do that with Holly as she has such a good outlook.
Good Luck and ENJOY! Ps try some rescue remedy.

Well done, you did really well. You werent the only one to miss a fence as someone did exactly the same in my ring so dont kick yourself too much about it! I saw you jump fence 4 and thought you were nearly going to go through the bush but you rode it very well. Very few people got the time, only a handful in each section. Probably due to the narrow bit between fences 13 + 14 i think? I bet alot of people lost time there.
Good luck at Chatsworth! I was hoping to compete there this year but because of last year I thought it would be pushing it a bit. I think the photographer might have been www.wrfotos.co.uk as it says Bradwall was one of their upcoming events but they're not up yet.

thanks! yes i know a few others did it my arena too so not the only fool!!

i thought i was going through the bush too he was bit keen!! got abit close on way out but he sorted it out !! thought it bit too much to ask straight route at 4th fence he's not seen anything like that before i did long route last yr too..
yeah i just pootled through that bit its very twisty. i saw not many made time even if i'd gone for it ibet i'd have got at least 10 pens... lets hope chatsworths not as tight!

looks like they haven't any 2007 photos up yet on WR?? i know his wife was competing as saw their lorry (Mary Lofthouse) will keep eye on it be good if there were - i did see Jo Prestwich about but not sure if she was photographing or not....

thank you ! lets hope it will be easier only thing it will be first event with out my mum!! so non horsey dad hopefully driving me there then hope can get someone to give me a hand!!

Well done!

I did the same last year- but worse as it was a three day! I came into fence 4 and suddenly thought whoops I didn't jump fence 3! Galloped back the other way and jumped it before I got Eliminated! Then scooted round the rest at jump off speed to try and avoid tons of time pens... ended up with 4 pens and 2 time so better than getting E I guess!
Good luck at Chatsworth- I have Sat dressage so will go and watch the Novice- I might see you fly round!

wow at least i'm not the only one!!

thank you good luck to you too! we'll have to exchange times and hopefully cross paths i might even need to bend your ear if i have a 'worry' fence on the xc if you wouldn't mind.... i don't have my Mum/groom with me for first time!!

Dont think its the sort of fence you want to go anywhere near whilst riding round or xc schooling! I wouldn't! I remember thinking it was a fairly hefty fence when I walked the course! Of course it jumped well... typical rider frightner!
