I just want to put it out there...
I am so proud of my feral pony GK and this kid, Grace. Going from someone who had lost a bit of nerve due to a bad fall a bit over 2 years, to riding my snot bag pony was never going to be easy, but she has done a super job.
She had no placings at Interschools in 2014, but this year did absolutely amazing. She placed 2nd in her heat for Prelim 1.3 dressage test on a 71.5% and 12th over all in the finals, 20th in her Novice test (not bad considering she had only ridden 3 Novice tests before - ever). She also come 4th in her 60cm SJ heat and 12th over all in the final, 8th in her 75cm SJ heat and 27th out of over 100 riders in the 75cm finals. And finally - the most impressive (IMO) the pair of them came 13th overall in the secondary school working hunter class... Not bad considering GK doesn't like show horse competitions and has only ever done one other working hunter class (at Interschools last year).
They are going like gangbusters together and had their first XC clinic yesterday during which GK was reasonably well behaved but Grace rode him fantastically. Their first ever ODE together will be in about 4 weeks. I could not ask for anyone better to part lease him. She loves him as much as I do and spoils him a lot more. She is never without a pile of carrots for him and is totally content whispering sweet nothings in his ear and telling him he is gorgeous... Which he loves as he has a huge ego.
Can honestly not wait to see how the pair of them go at Harvey!
