Got up really early to get the jobs done, mucked out, turned out, fed the mares and foals, walked the dogs, stables ready for a late bring in - brilliant.......... set off 8.30 a.m Sat morning, 1 1/2 hrs to get there, 2 1/2 hrs of x-country to watch.
In my dreams.
Got to the turn off from the A1 at 9.50am and joined the queue.
We FINALLY got parked at 11.30!!!!!!!!!!!! after being robbed of some VERY expensive gate money and the privilege of parking.
Did my best not to bite off the head off the parking and gate people, and rushed to see what was left of the CCI.
Moral of the story - next year either go for the weekend in the caravan OR just stay at home and watch my foalies playing.

And so many dogs there in that heat - poor things

Hmm, that's a shame - it doesn't usually take that long although saturday obviously is the busiest day. We got there just before 9am and it took about 5 mins to get in and we only queued essentially at the ticket bit.

My tip for you next year is to pre-buy your tickets and then you get free car parking pass (i think it's scandalous that they introduced the parking charge a couple of years back) and also do not join the masses on the A1 and in that way. I don't know where you come from but your best bet is to go to Bramham Park via the villages - either Bardsey or Thorner and thus avoid the queues!

Queueing is infuriating on the Saturday. I went on Friday and it was great (not to rub it in!). Ok I didn't get to watch XC but I did get to walk the course in peace!
