No thread that I can see? Who went and what did you think?

I was FJing and we had 2 falls at our fence and caught 2 loose horses from someone elses fence.

The weather turned out to be perfect, a small amount of rain to start with, but the ground was foot perfect all the way round. Seemed to not be a particular boogey fence this year with the faults being spread around the course. Everyone was vey happy at the end of the day!

And the top 6 in the CIC were all women!

And top four in the CCI were women!

I watched the first set off and didn't see too many problems when I was on the course til 11.30 ish before I left. I thought it was a lovely course tbh, glad they've taken out the corners they used to have under the trees as I saw lots of nasty falls there in previous years. I realise they've moved the corner question to earlier on the course at 4. I thought the step up to sonic fence ( fence six) was a bit easier, with a rail to set them up for the step up, not sure if that's been there in the past? And followed by a step up then stride before the brush, I'm sure in previous years that's been a bounce?

I do like the first water at the kidney ponds too, saw lots of heart in your mouth moments there as horses were just too keen with maybe not enough to back them off early on in the course. Watched Oli T go round on his new ride too, looked good for a bargain.

I thought the ground looked great too, which fence were you on? How to you get to fence judge too, is it years of building up?

So glad Flora won on a clear too, always chuffed when it's not won by a big name

Definitely a great year for women!

We were on Fence 3 - the ice creams. Last year it was carnage but this year was tremendous.

It is years of building up and we've been doing it for a long time at very low levels. It's also about who you know a bit as well. Means you get free entry all days and members entry too, well worth it.

I was discussing with my friend who isn't really competing much anymore, and wondering which were good events to do. I was thinking maybe Allerton park and Ollerton? I galloped at Bramham for four years in the pony club if that helps my case?! Spending hours in the middle of nowhere up by the steeplechase in the rain was a particular highlight lol

Malibu_stacy and I had a fantastic time ! I liked the course apart from the first water which looked prime to cause a rotational IMO but then I'm not a course designer :) I always love Bramham though, it's the perfect mix of atmosphere without heaving crowds!
