Brand new tack!

Just took delivery of my brand new comfort bridle, ebay bargain.
Dumb question but does it need any treatment before use? I was gonna saddle soap it lightly for protection as it will be my everyday bridle and will get rained on!!!
Any tips on keeping it nice?

just clean it regularly and keep in a dry room

I was always taught to soak all new leather in neatsfoot oil overnight in a plastic bag before use. I always do this with new leather and it makes it nice and soft and I think less likely to snap in the longer run.

I also apply effax to my leather regularly to keep it soft and clean. It's fab stuff.
