Branding - no longer visible

Hi,

I have a 5 year old and i have only ever done chaser clips on him as he obviously isnt in that much work yet. His branding though this winter is not longer visible, i am guessing due to the hair colour / growth. Should i be concerned? Should i clip the area? Maybe give him a blanket clip?

Is he 'hot-branded' or freeze branded? I have a 'branded' NF whose brand completely disappears into his woolly coat this time of year. I wouldn't worry, I think its quite nomal. Don't have any experience of freeze branding & I assume the coat should be growing through white.

It is hot branded, i may wait until next year as he can be a bit fresh so have left his bottom on until now! I just wondered if others became less visible with their winter coats.

I wouldn't worry at all. My horse is branded but it is more visible at certain times of the year.
