Are they for a certain breed/type?

I've seen a bridle I like but it has a brass silver browband - could it be used on a Warmblood or should my bridle be plain rolled or velvet?

Confused with this showing stuff. :)

I hate hate hate hate brass nosebands! nothing should ever be shown in them EVER!!! A nice simple flat cavesson will do

Brass browbands are saved for m&m inhand bridles only. Rolled bridles normally only ever for arabs or small show ponies.

Plain browband for hunter & cob types and m&ms ridden bridles-can go for a plaited leather browband. Coloured browband for hacks, riding horses and show ponies.

If its for the horse in your signature, I would go for a plain bridle

Thank you very much.

Yes its for a yearling - the one in my signature. In hand bridle i have is a cob and to small so was looking for a full. Current one is padded. All in hand bridles seem to be covered in brass and brass buckles. I saw one with silver buckles but had a brass browband. The only reason i was think silver is because ive changed him into a happy mouth bit and they do not come with copper rings.

I have a weymouth hunter bridle i could change around but for a youngstock class would that be wrong?

hmmmm personal preference but I would prefer to see a plain ridden bridle with a little nylon bit and coupling. Brass just reminds me of cobs lol

I had the nylon bit in him to start with but he gets his tongue over the bit and his mouth is open and mouthing.
His happier in the happy mouth - so i choose his comfort over whats correct.
