I am planning to a brc qualifier next feb. Charlie has been vaccinated annually every year for the past 5 years without fail. However, in 2004 his vaccinations were 2 months late. Prior to this lapse he had his 3 course of injections as a yearling and has been done annually until the lapse in 2004. I have spoken to my vet today regarding this and they said that he is fine for his vaccinations and is covered. How intensly do the officals at brc events look at vaccination records? Would this lapse 6 years ago matter that much? and are you liable to be eliminated from an event from this? This is all new terriotory for me.
Thank you for reading.

I'm afraid the rules are very strict, the vaccination records are thoroughly scrutinised and you will be eliminated, I'm afraid. I once had a horse with a similar vaccination history (in fact was only about a week late and then vaccinated on time for four years afterwards) and was told I would have to start his whole vaccination course again if I wanted to be able to compete in BRC events.

Unfortunately I think they could eliminate you. I have been to riding club dressage qualifiers and they have checked flu certs before letting me unload.

Just to add, if you are a member of a team in a BRC event and you are eliminated due to flu vac discrepancies (and are therefore the discard score), but the team qualifies anyway, you cannot be replaced in the team and the club will have to send a three person team to the final.

Thank you for all of your replies. I have read the rules now and have already booked Charlie in for the first injection next week. Does bs have the same rules regarding vaccinations? I would like to affilate in a couple of years
Thank you again
