Hello, I'm going as part of a quadrille team to the selection trial at Addington on Sat 4th Oct.
Was just wondering if anyone on here has been b4 or are going this time? Do you know what the stabling is like, will it be in their permanent stables or in temp stabling? What are the facilities like for those planning on staying over in lorries etc, or any tips for anywhere nice to stay locally, as we are planning on going down on the Friday to be able to do the practise in the arena.
We're all first-timers and getting quite anxious already - we've not had a practise with our full line up of horses yet due to lameness etc, neither have we got our music sorted!!

We are all excited about going to Addington and competing there as it seems lovely and is a bit too far for us to go for a 'normal' competition!!
Any previous experiences (good or bad!) greatly appreciated so we can be a bit more prepared!!
It will be alright on the night won't it??

Sorry to be picking your brains again!!

Hi

We have not done the Quadrille but have been to the Dressage to Music Finals on the same time.

Last year it was portable stables with the lorries parked quite near, the cafe was very smart, the arena was fab and music played really well and sounded amazing. Watching everyone get ready was quite exciting and seeing everyone doing the tack and turnout bit was good but we did not see perform.

Good luck and will maybe see you there as we are going again this year.

Apparently they have indoor stables too now which should make it a little easier if the weather is as wet as it has been recently!!

Which club are you from?

If you go onto their website you will see they have a number of indoor stables. These are very nice, and hopefully you will get those - may be worth a call to see what has been proposed as you may need to think of ways of keeping your horses dry if you end up in the temporary stables and the weather is bad i.e. bring some outdoor rugs with you.
