My husband and friend took my little marmite pony to her first show of the year and she certainly didnt disappoint.
The show was done over two day so on Saturday was in hand and working hunter then sunday was ridden and show jumping (she didnt do show jumping)
So we arrived nice and early on Saturday and my friend was taking Breagha in for her first in hand class which was her height class, she is so used to doing in hand as I have done it with her since she was a yearling and is 6 this year. So was chuffed when they came in 3rd out of 6.
Then it was husbands turn to get her ready for her first ever working hunter class, it was the novice class so was only 60cm ish but high enough for her to try and low enough to get herself out of any trouble. She started off being a bit sticky in the warm up as I think she was fighting with the husband (they have a love/hate relationship) but once M told her to get a grip she starting jumping alot better. So off they went and she cleared the first and 2nd but had a wee argument towards the 3rd which was a skinny and she went a little too far to the right and M toe took the wing down with him LOL - it didnt phase her and she did the rest of the round fault free. Straight after the jumping they had to go and do their individual and she just looked amazing and the judge really liked her (even reconised her from my advert looking for a rider for her). She didnt place but I didnt care as she did amazing.
We ended up missing the 2nd in hand class as they wouldnt wait while M finished in the workers ring but thats showing for you.
Then onto Sunday (trying to keep white clean for 2 days is hard LOL):
First up was her ridden turnout which my friend took her in for which was more for experience for my friend as she isnt used to riding in public and knew that a ridden turnout wasnt too much pressure. So again they placed 3rd out of 7 (kept her clean enough).
Again, it was husbands turn to take the reins and he was going in for the ridden height class and Breagha just went beautifully for him, they must have called a truce before hand. She was then placed 2nd out of 7 which I was thrilled with.
Then they went in for the coloured ridden which normally she doesnt do well in as I have been told before is isnt coloured enough but I don't mind - I love her all the same. Again, she and husband went round so well and initally she was pulled in 3rd before they did their individual show - once that was done and they got sent out I was gobsmacked that she had actually gone and won the class - proud pregnant owner lol.
Here she is in her go around:
We stayed for the championship but she didnt place but you could see her starting to tire and I think their truce may have ended as there were a few arguments between them (which thankfully the judge didnt see).
So all in all a long tiring weekend but so worth it.
Well done if you got this far.
