I have just had THE BEST session with my young boy. I have been suffering hugely with confidence over the last 6 months which has left him feeling that he can't trust me. I decided to hire a absolutely outstanding instructor who has given me great pointers and told me how it is - basically that I have been letting him away with murder. Today, I was on my own following on from her guidance. I rode him, for the first time today with a new lease of confidence. As soon as I got on him I felt different - can't explain it. Before, I was keeping the riding in small circles by the gate as I have been scared he would bomb off round the school. Today I got straight on, sat up straight, breathed and walked round the whole school. We even did a trotting pole. I am so happy. He was happy. Everyone's a winner wooohooo!!!!

I wish I had done it earlier - I guess I was in denial thinking he would improve but it was me who needed to improve. It's crazy! I am sure we'll have off days but today is a good day. I bought him a giant swede as a treat - yum yum!
 
I can appreciate your feelings right now as my friend has helped me no end (literally) and it's great to have someone you can trust and you admire on the ground to help with riding and bringing on your own horse.

It definitely pays doesn't it, so well done I am pleased for your new found confidence and progress with your neddy.

Thanks Russoheidi - really appreciate it. Its good to know you're doing well too - its a great feeling when you have BIG breakthroughs like this.
