What do you think is best ? my mum has a section A mare, 7 yrs old. She has been shown since a foal, with good results, and has been away on breeding loan for 2 years and had a lovely little filly. She has great breeding, and would make great brood mare, or show pony. should she sell her as she is, or break her as a childs riding or show pony ? not concered about making money, just want a good home. Would breaking her make a difference ? any thoughts or experiences be great ! thanks

She would be worth more backed so if you have the time I would do it.

Actually would never buy an unbacked horse unless I really knew the owner as saw a very good friend fork out a lot of money for a stunning 3 year old. When they came to back it, it became very apparent someone had tried and utterly cocked it up. Opinion of vet, farrier, physio and YO. Just saying!

Breaking would open up the market for more buyers, so yes, I'd break the pony. Also, despite her having had a legitimate job for the past couple of years, I'd wonder why a 7 year old was not broken.

Yes I would break her too. I also think you would need to have a small capeable jockey to bring her on a little so she is broken and actually riding well. You would have better chance of getting her the good home she deserves. Good luck with her.
