Breaking In

hi, im new to this forum and am looking for some advice on breaking in my youngster. He is almost 3 years old but not finished growing yet. I was planning on sending him away this year to get him broken in but ive recently decided to wait until next year when he will be nearer 4 as he still acts young and I still need to do more de-spooking and getting him used to new things. He already takes a bit, roller, saddle, side reins and is comfortable wearing them. he has been walked and such in the gear and behaves brilliantly. Im just wondering if anyone can give me some tips or advice on how to approach getting him into light work, lunging, etc before i can get him fully broken in and schooled next year.

i start him longreining ,making sure he knows the aids , stand ,walk on,etc , and also walk him out in company with a order laid back horse ,seeing different sounds ,and sights

also turning and changing direction ,slowing down and speeding up ,rein back,
jump up and down on both sides ,leaning into stirrup and put weight into it , pratice lifting foot up into stirrup etc

I am going to start lunging and longreining him when he is 3 which is April. I am just going to start taking him for more walks until then I think.
