My horse rushes in the trot and canter and I’m wondering would a breastplate help contain his speed and help collect him? I read that it might help control his shoulders and stop him rushing but I’m still not sure. Thank you for reading!

No. The rider does that.
It is possible to train a horse to respond to a pull on a neckstrap but it’s a fairly blunt response
