Hi, I am looking for a new breastplate after mine got stolen! I would like a black one, elasticated or full leather with martigale that clips on and clips to attach to the saddle. Also not too pricey, I have lots of stuff to replace!

My devocoux breastplate is the best in my opinion, clips on to the saddle and clip on martingale,
howeverrr, i can imagine it's not the cheapest, but definately recommended

I have the Jeffries five point competition breastplate. Love it, other than the fact that the stitching is coming undone

Not cheap though

Sorry to hear you have had your tack stolen. As you have loads of stuff to replace there are some excellent breastplates made in foreign leather which look and behave exactly the same as the English stuff at a fraction of the cost. A nice hunting breastplate in black, you would never know the difference!! You can change for a Devoucoux or similar later if you want to!

Thanks for suggestions, is it possible to get hunting breastplates with slips, or could I get one with buckles and change it?

How about bucking the trend and NOT getting a breastplate?? Do you need one? I have to say through the years I have competed SJ/XC etc I have never had to have a breast plate. Save your money!

Well I dont needs a breastplate, more a martigale, but I thought breastplates do help keep your saddle in place as well
