As title looking for breastplate/neckstrap something incase need to grab hold of jumpng, etc, which ones do you use/brand good/dad experiances i cant decide.
Thank-you!

I have a balance strap as a handle when jumping / other spooky things. Think it is fab, v stable, easy to grab hold of and doesn't affect the horse if I jolt it by accident. Something like this: http://www.frogpool.com/product-1329.htm Alternatively you can just thread an old flash strap through the d rings on the front of your saddle. Sometimes I find a neck strap is too far forward to hold comfortably without tiping forwards, this sits in a much more comfortable position.

Not sure how to add a photo but i have this webbing product called RS-Tor from Libbys which is not really a neck strap but works quite well. You hold it in your hand like a whip and it has elastic which comes into play if you come out of the saddle or tip off balance.

I got a saddler to make me a neck strap. I use it and a breastgirth but the neck strap for that isn't in an ideal place. This is also the same set up you often see William Fox-Pitt using. Maybe he copied me? HA HA. It was only £10 and is much wider than a stirrup leather. If you don't need a breastplate for saddle slipping purposes then I'd suggest that (though an old stirrup leather would of course suffice!).
Alternatively, erm...grab a handfull of mane :-). Plenty variety of locations to grab!! Funnily, if you watch Ellen Whitaker closely over big fences she always grabs her Horse's mane on take-off. If it's good enough for her.................
