I am looking for suggestions for breeches that are quite firm and stretchy ( therefore quite supporting!) which can help hold a tum in as recent pics I look pregnant! I have Caldene Belgrades which I liked but are a bit soft for my taste, my best breeches are an old pair of bargain no name ones which are probably almost entirely polyester but hold everything together better! All suggestions welcome! except for the obvious go to the gym or diet ones lol!

I find that breeches made from a woven fabric are more 'supportive' than knitted cotton type.
Mark Todds are An example, but I find the fabric very thin and not so flattering.

have a look at fuller fillies. they are special materiel to help hold you in and start at 30'' waist....

Another vote for Equetech! I also recently bought a cheapy cheap pair of Sherwood Forest ones off of eBay (£15) for everyday use and they are fab - very comfy but supportive of my post C-section mummy tummy ;)

Or another thought, just wear some shapewear underneath. Very gok wan ;) and does make a huge difference!

Mark Todd breeches and the high-waisted Pikeur jobbies are very flattering. I wear the MT ones, and they're very comfortable and flattering. Not bad considering I'm a massive fattie :D

I'm not quite big enough for fuller fillies sizes yet but if anyone makes something like that in smaller sizes i'd be happy! had equetechs before but the leather seat fell to bits after a couple of wears which put me off a bit

I, like Nicnac, am not big enough for fuller fillies and up to about a year ago I was a stone lighter. The entire stone is on my tummy, not very flattering (except for a little bit on my bossoms, which is quite flattering :)). Anyway, I am still fitting into my Shires Saddle huggers and I find that they are holding me in quite nicely, apart from a bit of muffin top which is hidden under a loose top.

Sorry to thread hi-jack, but I did have a read on the Fuller Fillies website about their sizing, and for the jodhs/breeches it says they are super stretchy, so if you are usually (for example) a 40 inch waist you buy a 36, I think?
So as I normally wear a 32, would they fit, or be baggy? Would a 30 do the trick? I should probably find a retailer and try some on really, lol x

You can't get them from many retailers, they seem to be mainly Internet based.
However, if you ring Tackanory, Suzanne is extremely helpful. She is the designer and will advise on sizing. I find that that I need one size in the cottony types of jodhs, and another in the woven one's/ fake suede seated breeches.
