Often wonder what people think of my lad (after they come back from running away from him initially :-) - and also what breed people think he is? I've had some pretty inventive thoughts on both - be nice to know what everyone on here think of him - and what 'make and model' he is! FYI he's ust turned 11.

Aw thank you! It would take a heck of alot of wrapping up though!!!! He resembles a yak x mammoth in winter, aybe you wouldn't say the same thing if you saw him now lol!

Im useless on this kind of thing, some days I think he's quite a handsome fella, others I think he looks like a cut & shut of 2 totally different horses!

He's a very big 15.3 / 16hh - vets recently measured him at 16.2 but he is capable of growing to huge proportions when he see's a vet! I should have said at the beginning - I do know what breed he is due to having had him since a wee chap, but he really doesn't have too many of his mum's traits!

Lol. Yak x mammoth eh? My youngster is going the same way and she is half Sec D and half traditional cob

If he is going to take that much wrapping I wonder if I could get discount for bulk buying?

Ellies / SOO - thank you! He think's he is rather special, but is a bit of a lout on occassions - SOO - you have his dad pinned, was indeed a shire! But his mum? :-)

Tracey - I wish - I miss my Sec D's - I originally bought him as he was very similar as a baby even in the state he was in!

cc on his confirmation would also be welcome....

i had a horse who looked very, very similar to yours.

he was 3/4 Welsh Cob and 1/4 tb but the tb had only added height- he was basically a 16.2hh Welsh Cob!

i will try and dig a photo out...

Ravenwood - I was thinking that too (well, that or Welsh which I see is wrong). I think it is partly due to the slight dappling...

Conformation I know very little about but he does seem to have quite a deep barrel and slight crest, espec in the second pic - not sure if that is conformation/being cut late(?)/slight chubbiness/breeding. He looks *gorgeous* though.

Not going to laugh at the Spanish comment at all, as I was pretty shocked with his mum - but thank you all those who said he's gorgeous - I think so - some of the time!!

Ladylina83 - sorry, not welsh, and he is comfy, or would be if I was taller and had more legs that I have! I find him quite a struggle after 20min or so, but wouldn't swap him!

Tickles - he was gelded at 11 months, but yep - bit of chub there :-( mainly due to not enough workload (any offers :-) lol)

He is really lovely though, I might come and steal him!

I agree, he reminds me of a Adulusion(sp) x Shire who used to visit the same yard as Cappy.

he reminds me of a friends horse called bronte, she was out of a trotter mare, and had a mixture of welsh/irish cob in her. She was black as well.

Sorry, went to sleep early. His mum was Friesian. He didn't get much in the way of looks from her did he poor lad :-( I wish I could have bought her! Weirdly my vet thinks his breeding is partially responsible for his physical defects - I have absolutely no knowledge of that side of things so no idea why! Love him to bits though - but would frequently give him away!!!!
