I was pondering today whether the breed of a horse has any bearing on how much they run around in the field? Are hot/warm blood types more inclined to have a run around? It got me thinking as my arab mare runs round and has her mad moments a lot but my irish draught lad really can't be bothered with all that. What breed are your horses and do they run around a lot?

I personally dont think it has much to do with the breed but the temperament and personality of the horse. Generally hot blooded animals are renowned for being 'hotter' than say a native pony and consequently will react more to certain stimulus. Saying this we've had hundreds of horses through our yard and breed per se hasn't played a huge part in their running about but the overall temperament has and often we've seen the 'quieter' horses playing about while the tb's have watched them :)

Ehhhh i dunno might b. My neighbours tbs are always pissing about, my fat cob doesn't move and my wee minis don't move much, but one is a finer mini and he would run more than the shetland.
