Breed Standards?

Is there anywhere that I can obtain breed standards much in the same way the Kennel Club website has them for dogs? It's for my course I'm doing in college. Main breeds I am interested about writing about are Shires and Arabs

Or if anyone can suggest one they think would be good to right about that would be appreciated

Just bear in mind that whereas The Kennel Club owns the copyright to all the breed standards -- and they are therfore written in a very standardized format -- in horses the standards are owned by the relevant breed societies and very considerbaly in format.

About 20 years ago I was a copy editor for a book by Elwyn Hartley Edwards called The Standard Guide to Horseand Pony Breeds which was published (I think) by Macmillan so you could ask your college if they could get hold of a copy for you by inter-library loan.

Horsequest in the M&M section has all the breed standards for our Natives supplied the relevant societies.
