Just watching the Breeder's Cup, how come they are still allowed to use Lasix thought i heard a while ago they were stopping allowing the use of it?

Is it not harmful to the horse? Why would it be used?

Does it not "taint" the win as they're effectively competing on drugs would they have won without them?

I think they said the Irish horse who just won the turf was using it, why when you aren't normally allowed would you use them

Also the Classic is worth so much money would it not be worth as a UK trainer trying to target it with a couple of prep runs on the all weather if you have a horse that runs over that distance? Can't see any European entries

As far as I'm aware racing in the US has said that there is not enough evidence to say it's dangerous (the dangers being dehydration and loss of key minerals), in terms of a tainted win I think so many are on it that it levels out the playing field. I did think the track (can't remember the name) that had so many fatal accidents was going to or has banned it.
